My ranking of the Final Fantasy series, including just what I've played and comfortably feel I can rate (V needs to be replayed, it's been too long). I've also tried to just focus on the more traditional RPGs, not fighting/action game type spinoffs for the time being. I'm working on fresh plays/replays of certain games so this should see updates in the near future. For some games I've simply selected what I consider the definitive version (in cases of simple HD remasters for example), but for a few games where versions vary radically between either other, I've gone ahead and included both versions (such as Dawn of Souls, which as a bundle is tricky anyway).
